Open a Bank Account Online: It’s Safe and Easy

Here’s how Citizens First Bank is making the banking process easy and safe!

In our busy and increasingly digital world, the ability to do things from home or on the go is invaluable. Citizens First Bank is now offering Online Account Opening so customers can easily open savings and checking accounts right from a personal phone or computer!

Safe and Easy Account Access

Opening an account with CFB online means you don’t need to print out any documents or sign any physical forms. Here are some things you should know to make the process safe and seamless.

What to Know Before Going Online

Opening an online savings or checking account is just as safe and secure as opening one in person. How do we know? Citizens First Bank is backed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). This means as long as you go directly through the link on our website, your account is automatically insured. Be sure to use safe cyber practices including creating unique and secure passwords and connecting via a safe and private internet network. It’s also good to know we don’t sign you up for anything other than the account you choose. You’ll still need to sign up for online banking or other services if you wish to use those features.

How You Can Qualify

Our online account opening is available to any person over the age of 18, excluding businesses or other organizations. To open an account, you will need to have a few things prepared to verify identity, just like you would in person. We try to make the process as easy as possible for you, so one feature we’ve included is scanning your driver’s license or government-issued ID to cut down on manual information entry. You will also need to provide your social security number, date of birth, contact information, and funding information. An initial deposit is required to start an account, so make sure you have a way to transfer funds whether that’s a credit or debit card, or account and routing number from another bank.

Once your savings or checking account is opened, we’ll send you a letter in the mail welcoming you to the CFB family! You can always call any of our branches or come to a physical location with questions about your account. We’re happy to help!

We’re excited to offer this new service and hope it makes banking easier for everyone.
